Add this extremely limited release 2025 1/20 oz Proof Silver Libertad PF-69 NGC ER coin to your cart today! 2025 Libertad ReleaseThe 2025 Libertad coin release is historic due to its extremely low mintages and the complete absence of gold coins—a first for the series. In stark contrast to previous years, where the 1 oz silver BU Libertad often had mintages over 300,000 (e.g., ~437,000 in 2021), the 2025 version is limited to just 500 coins. Other sizes are equally scarce: the 5 oz BU silver Libertad is limited to 200 coins, and the ¼ oz BU version to only 100 coins. These unprecedented lows have made 2025 one of the rarest Libertad years ever, with collector demand and secondary market prices expected to surge accordingly.Mexican Silver LibertadsThe 1/20 oz Silver Libertad Proof coin was first introduced in 1992, and has been produced annually since its introduction, aside from 2012. The coins are produced at La Casa de Moneda de México, the oldest mint in North America. Each year of release has varying mintages in this beautiful Proof finish. These Silver coins have been introduced in different sizes and finishes, and the 1/20 oz size offers the classic Libertad design at a lower price point. The obverse of the coin features Mexico's coat of arms. The reverse of the beautiful coin tells the legend of two star-crossed lovers, princess Iztaccíhuatl and warrior Popocatépetl, turned into volcanoes by the Aztec gods so they can finally be together. Bank of MexicoThe Libertads are produced at La Casa de Moneda de Mexico (Mexican Mint), the oldest mint in North America. It is also the national mint of Mexico, first established in 1535. The Bank of Mexico is Mexico's central bank, and is the Mexican Mint's largest client, producing circulating coinage and currency for the country as well as Precious Metal coins. The mint is located in Mexico City.
