Designed by Theophil Hansen and originally opened in 1883, the neoclassical jewel on Vienna’s elegant and imposing Ringstrasse boulevard has now been renovated, making the building fit for purpose as a modern, citizen-oriented, working parliament. A strong democracy thrives on discourse. Our opinions may differ, but our consensus is democracy. Likewise, fundamental rights and freedoms make a democracy what it is.
