2019 Austria Silver €5 New Year's Joy of Living
The Austrian Mint’s New Year Coin of 2019 is dedicated to the concept of Lebensfreude. Best translated using the French term joie de vivre, this concept is symbolized on the coin in the form of a dancer who is full of the joy of living. The image is taken from a painting by Franz Dobiaschofsky (1818-67) found on the main staircase of the world-famous State Opera in Vienna, which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2018. Few edifices are capable of filling those within them with as much joy as an opera house.
